1926 – 2019
Paul Franklin May, 92, of Owingsville, KY, passed away early Friday morning at his home, his loving family at his side.
Mr. May was born November 15, 1926 in Catlettsburg, KY to the late Jessie and Nellie Combs May. He was also preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Burkholder May in 2016, sons, Larry May and Gregory May, brothers, Harold May and Leonard May, sisters, Bernice Craig, Edith Runyon, and Eileen Clark.
Paul served his country honorably during WWII in the US Army as a Sargent and received the WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and American Theater Campaign Medal. He worked for Kellogg Construction Company as a Supervisor, West Virginia Laborers Local Union out of Charleston, and retired in 2015 from maintenance at Walmart. His hobbies included reading and woodcraft, a member of American Legion and of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are his daughters, Brenda Clarson, her husband John, of Melbourne, FL, Sheila Chapman of Owingsville, KY, Starr Olson, her husband Max, of St. Edward, NE, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and sister, Ruby Runyon of Jacksonville, FL.
A Graveside Service to honor Mr. May will be at 11:00am, Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens with Pastor Frank Hulett officiating. Military Honors presented by Post 93 and the US Army.
Neal-Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home is assisting the Family with arrangements.
